Third World to bring ‘96 Degrees’ to Jamaican Jerk Fest Washington DC

-

THE SWEET, smoky aroma of jerk flavours will be mixed with the pulsating beats of one of Jamaica’s most iconic bands — Third World. The delicious offering of this combo is just one of the many delights for patrons at the third staging of the Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival, which takes place in Washington, DC on Sunday.

Bringing a lot of heat to the day’s entertainment, the internationally acclaimed Reggae Ambassadors, will delight patrons with their string of popular hits and reggae classics. According to festival organiser Eddie Edward, while the band has performed at the Florida and New York festivals, it is their first appearance at the Washington festival. “Imagine, the third time, and we are featuring Third World.”

The band attracts a wide audience of not only Jamaicans, but loyal and diverse fans, young and old from across the Caribbean and the world.

“We expect the band to have the venue singing, dancing and enjoying their anthems and hits such as Now That We Found Love, 96 Degrees in the Shade, Try Jah Love, and

Sense of Purpose to name a few. They will also break out into a special segment which engages the audience, and there will be solo performances from Cat Coore on the Cello,” Edwards revealed.

MORE FLAVOUR

Third World will be joined at the RFK Stadium by dancehall sensation Elephant Man with his highenergy performance, and soca queen Alison Hinds is sure to electrify the masses, who will be dancing and singing to her party anthems. New Kingston will add a taste of roots rock reggae, while DJ Ricky Platinum will add even more flavour to the festival’s extensive entertainment package with a selection of dance hits and club favourites. Patrons will also feast on a variety of jerked delicacies, observe culinary demonstrations, participate contests, cultural presentations, and enjoy contemporary entertainment on the main stage, while the little ones can delight in the Kidz Zone.

The third annual Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival DC is sponsored by Grace Foods, Shoppers Food, VP Records, Guinness, Giant Foods and Ablazin Radio.
