Montego Bay Christian Academy wows in GSAT

ONTEGO BAY Christian Academy in St James is in a celebratory mood following the final sitting of the Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) as several of its students have emerged with averages in the high 90s.
Two of those students, 11-year-old Rebecca Stanley and 12-year-old Jonathan Lewis, were on hand to share
Mwith The Gleaner their feelings about the exam, in which Rebecca attained the school’s highest average of 99.4 per cent and Jonathan got a 95.2 per cent average as the school’s top boy. While pleased about her overall score, Rebecca admitted that she thought she could have done better.
“I think I did well, and I probably could have done just a little bit better. I really dedicated most of my time at home to studying because I wanted to do very well,” said Rebecca, who will attend Montego Bay High School and wants to become a lawyer.
Jonathan, who seeks to become a doctor, and will be attending Herbert Morrison Technical High School, had fewer words to describe his reaction to the exam, but he was likewise pleased with his performance.
“The exam was pretty good, and I did really well. It was really hard, though, as we had to do all the past papers,” said Jonathan.
Two other students of note were Tiffany Chambers, who got a 97.6 per cent average, and Arianne Goulbourne, who got a 97.4 per cent average.
