GLEANER’S KNIGHT OUT: FEASTING FLAVOUR

- krysta.anderson@gleanerjm.com

HEAR YE! Hear ye! Specially invited Sirs feasted in flavour at the highly anticipated Father’s Day lyme, Gleaner’s Knight Out. J. Wray and Nephew’s headquarters @twen-tythree came to life last Friday night as fun-tastic fathers arrived in fine style for the grand occasion. Aside from the night’s awesome activities, dads feasted their eyes and their stomachs to a wide assortment of mouthwatering goodness, courtesy of Ashebre – the Virtual Restaurant.

Executive culinary artist, Oji Jaja, alongside his talented team, had attendees in a gastronomic euphoria. The seasoning and spice of escoveitch snapper on a crispy bammy, topped with scallion curls, sweet soy chicken satay topped with scallion curls and toasted sesame seeds and jerk marinated pork loin served with a pineapple chutney had palates excited with each savoury bite. And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, Ashebre sweetened the deal with orange coconut bread pudding with whipped cream, fresh berries, mint and caramel sauce, as well as tiramasu parfait.

HIGH SPIRITS

Appleton Estate did not disappoint in commanding the attention of our male guests, who remained put for rounds of their preferred mixes – this kept them in high spirits throughout the night. When they felt to explore their taste buds a bit further, they opted for a change, before returning home to their aperitif of choice. And because we’re about living the responsible lifestyle, Mountain Bliss 876 provided hot and cold classic and gold coffee to level the drinking field. They upped the taste ante by adding the sweet treat of cookies to the mix. Fun and games had all the food areas going above and beyond to satisfy eager palates with feasting flavour. And ultimately made Gleaner’s Knight Out an epic event.
