Allor Teas: Several sips of healthy

- Keisha Hill/Senior Gleaner Writer keisha.hill@gleanerjm.com

THERE’S NOTHING nicer than a soothing cup of herbal tea. Besides being a tasty, warming, caffeine-free pick-meup, herbal tea has lots of wonderful health benefits. From soothing one’s tummy to easing insomnia and calming a troubled mind, herbs have all sorts of healing powers. Drinking herbal tea can also be a great source of vitamins and minerals.

However, you might want to consider an infusion of three blends of these herbs to get all the plant’s benefits in an easily digestible form.

Allor, a new blend of herbal teas, has two brands that infuse soursop, moringa and lemon grass; and soursop, guinea hen weed and sorrel, that is highly recommended for people who want to naturally improve their health while enjoying a delicious and refreshing brew.

HEALTH BENEFITS

These herbal teas offer a variety of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients. Other common health benefits include relaxing the body and mind, aiding sleep disorders, reducing inflammation, easing the pain, protecting against common diseases, boosting the immune system, optimising the digestive system, detoxifying the body, and stimulating cognitive function.

According to Dean Williams, local and international distributor for Allor Teas, the product was conceptualised two years ago with the objective of promoting good health, while producing quality herbal teas for the local and international markets.

“Herbal teas contain many medicinal properties that help to promote good health. You can consume herbal tea three to four times a day for effective remedies. The herbs used are easily identifiable and known to most persons, and we believe that a combination of three herbs work better, as they complement each other,” Williams said.

With all the ingredients organically grown in Jamaica, Williams said the teas can be sweetened to make them more pleasant, in which case, it is more beneficial to add honey than sugar. “Of all the herbal preparations, herbal teas are the most used and these are a safe and natural way to acquire the active principles of the plants,” he said.

With a shelf life of up to three years, Allor Teas is available in leading supermarkets, wholesales, pharmacies and tea clubs across the island. For more information on this product, email info@allornaturalproducts.com.
