FOR 27 of its 30-plus years of operation, Daley’s Construction and Hardware Limited in western Jamaica has had one prominent face on staff greeting its customers and continuing its reputation of excellence.

Eulalee Daley Whitter is the daughter of the owner, Telford Daley, and when it comes on to working with her dad, she will tell you, quite simply, “Families should stay together.”

“I love my job,” she said. “I would have it no other way.”

FIRST JOB

When the company started in the 1980’s, it only offered construction services, and Eulalee was the typist, her first-ever job.

Now, with the addition of the Hardware side of the business, Daley Whitter takes pride in being the sales clerk and longest-serving staff member, helping to build dad’s brainchild.

PROUD OF DAD

But outside of being the complete businessman, Eulalee describes Telford Daley as being the consummate individual who is honest and noble in his intentions. He is also excellent at what he does, which is only natural, considering that construction is his passion.

“He is a first-class contractor who gives excellent service and value for the job that he does,” she said.

On a day-to-day basis, Daley’s Construction and Hardware Limited offers a full suite of building materials and services, and Eulalee says that where customer satisfaction is concerned, nothing is left to chance. According to her, “If we don’t have what they need, we get it for them within a day or two.”

She is hopeful for the future and envisions continued success for the business as she would for any other member of the family.
