Continuing to grow

-

ASTRONG healthcare system in a community is an indication of growth and development and a vehicle for social transformation. The Linstead community continues to grow with improved housing stock, job opportunities, good transportation and a Type C hospital. I am particularly proud to be chairman of an institution characterised by state-of-the-art equipment, a welltrained and dedicated cadre of healthcare professionals, and active community participation. Making healthcare accessible to everyone regardless of age, sex, economic status or education is very important, and the Government of Jamaica remains committed to this sustainable development goal prioritised by the World Health Organization. The Linstead Public Hospital supports the wider vision of Jamaica and the world and remains committed to this goal emphasised in its mission of “providing safe healthcare and promoting healthy lifestyle practices among our clients through the provision of preventative, curative and rehabilitative services delivered by an adequately trained and motivated healthcare delivery team”.

For over a century, the Linstead Public Hospital has been providing care for the residents in and around our community. Significant investment has been made in improving and upgrading our facilities to continue providing the highest-quality service to the communities we serve.

I remain committed to the growth and expansion of the institution as it enters a new century ensuring that all citizens of Linstead have access to and are not denied healthcare regardless of their personal situations. Congratulations to the management and staff of this formidable institution, whose commitment to service is undeniable. Thank you for making our community a place of choice to live and raise our children knowing that our health is in the best hands. PETER MCCONNELL Hospital Management Committee Chairman
