Sweet Jamaica

- – Erika Heslop Martin

Sweet sweet Jamaica, the land of my birth.

A tiny speck on this planet Earth.

An island surrounded by the Caribbean Sea. A tropical paradise to unwind and be free. With cool sea breeze and great tasting chocolate tea. A land of fertility and sport ability,

With golden sunshine that brightens up the hearts of its people.

Sweet sweet Jamaica.

Famous for its mountainous mountains, white sand beaches, resilient rivers, Rhythmic reggae music, vibrant dances, fast athletes and creative people.

Sweet sweet Jamaica. Known for its sumptuous and delicious foods like: Ackee and saltfish with breadfruit, Escoveitch fish with bammies and fried plantains, Jerk chicken with rice and peas and calaloo. Coconut drops, sweet potato puddings and peanut cakes.

Sweet sugar cane and thirst quenching jelly coconuts.

A wide variety of fruits and mango trees on every road, lane or avenue.

Sweet sweet Jamaica.

Known for its irresistible mineral baths, Memorable historical ruins, magnetic tourist resorts,

Bauxite industry and the enriched lands that bring forth healthy crops.

Sweet sweet Jamaica.

Out of many, one people.

Black, green and gold,

Many stories untold.

Sometimes rough and tough,

But with God in the midst, life can be great in little JA.

So how can I neglect sweet sweet Jamaica my paradise home?
