SVL brings out the best in us

-

THE EDITOR, Sir:

IT IS easy to lose sight of the things that matter most. We are often so caught up in our own tribulations that we forget there are people with problems much bigger than ours.

One such is back to school for many parents, some of whom simply cannot afford to do it on their own. I would like to single out for special mention companies like Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL) that has rushed to the aid of struggling parents over the years. Through its Simply Vested Programme for back to school, the company is helping many parents and deserving students with myriad back-to-school expenses.

As a fellow parent, I know the stress of school fees, books, uniforms, lunch money, and transportation bills piling up with no end in sight. It is an exhausting process, but must be even more so for parents who are far more destitute.

MUCH-NEEDED ASSISTANCE

Thankfully, once again, this year there is much-needed help, thanks to Supreme Ventures.

You know that saying: ‘The heart willing, but the pocket empty’, I feel like that sums up the Simply Vested Programme. I may not be able to give my friends or neighbours the money I know they desperately need to buy the schoolbook or school uniform, but if I can simply fill out a nomination form telling SVL who I wished to nominate and why, I’m creating the opportunity for someone to get the help they need, and for this, I take my hat off to Supreme Ventures.

I’ve read stories of mothers, grandmothers, and fathers having to support six or seven children with no help in sight, and if I could nominate each and every one of them, I would. It’s such a shame that more companies haven’t followed suit.
