An intimate LAP OF LUXURY

- Latara Boodie/Gleaner Writer

THE GLEANER LIFESTYLE’S Let’s Get Intimate series, made headlines last Friday, as one of the most successful corporate mingles held in Kingston this year.

The theme, ‘Lap of Luxury’, focused on achieving lifelong goals such as owning a home, a car, dressing your way to success, and obtaining smart plans for your smartphone.

The event was held at the epicentre of all things

fast and luxurious: the Stewart Auto Gallery, 49 1/2 South Camp Road. Persons were treated to a first-class joy ride in the 2018 Range Rover Velar, which proved to be an ultra sophisticated and classy experience.

Appleton mixes paired with savoury hors d ‘ourves, created by executive culinary artist Oji Jaja of Ashebre, made the rounds as servers fed and quenched the thirst of eager young professionals, who were observed flitting among each other, as they networked. Panko crusted chicken and mango barbecued chicken satay, made from wholesome CB chicken, filled the room with undertones of paprika, cayenne pepper, and honey as the pasta demonstration sizzled with a unique creamy blend of penne pasta.

MC Marlon Campbell grabbed the crowd’s attention with his comedic pick-up lines and witty sense of humour, which he used to introduce each guest speaker. Garfield Morgan, product manager from Sagicor Bank, spoke in detail about mortgage versus rent.

SUCCINCT PRESENTATIONS

“Ooh’s and Ahhs” were heard from the crowd as they listened ardently to the succinct presentation, which was delivered with precision. Loven McCook obtained numerous questions from the audience as he delved into the many ways of obtaining a loan from Sagicor Bank to own your dream car.

For persons who continuously struggle with running out of credit, Dwight Williams, senior director, product management, FLOW, was just the man to talk to when it comes to switching to a postpaid phone.

Daniel Edwards, the visionary behind the Jamaican Youtube channel - Total One Eighty, parted the sea of people with dapper male models draped in executive suites from Maxie Department Store. His presentation focused on the Do’s and Dont’s of dressing for success. The low hum of voices, blending with upbeat music and occasional bursts of laughter, was a sure indication that persons were, indeed, having a grand time.

Salada maintained the buzz with the serving of ice-cold coffee, which was a rich and creamy delight.
