Pleased with BSJ partnership
AT THE Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC), we pride ourselves on the mantra ‘From Concept to Market’. Product development is where we begin this critical journey with our clients in the Micro, Small & Medium-sized Enterprise (MSME) sector with the ultimate aim of them becoming viable businesses in the marketplace.
We recognize the immense value in Technical Cooperation and so we are pleased with the partnership we continuously maintain with Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ) in ensuring that our clients’ products are tested and approved for the market at a cost which is affordable. The BSJ was among our partners when we launched and implemented phase one of the groundbreaking islandwide Mobile Business Clinic Initiative from 2014 to 2016 which served approximately 2,400 Jamaicans. We are confident that information disseminated along those tours has left entrepreneurs more empowered to maintain the highest quality.
We have also relied on the BSJ for our own brands like the recently launched Jamaica Harvest line of gourmet foods. Our goal is to see the success of these brands not only in the local marketplace but also on the international scene. This means we must operate in accordance with the rapid changes occurring globally as we make the transition through the Fourth Industrial Revolution where technological advancement in production is paramount.
On this celebration of World Standards Day, JBDC commends BSJ on its effective management of standards as we take Brand Jamaica to new heights.
