Financial access towards the achievement of their goals

-

THE CREDIT Union movement has been one of great significance, not only in the local contexts, but also in the wider Caribbean, Europe, and other parts of the world. Its introduction to the region in the early 1940s heralded a new day which allowed average individuals financial access towards the achievement of their goals.

First Regional Co-operative Credit Union was formed in 2006 following the amalgamation of the St Ann and St Mary Co-operative Credit Unions. The organisation has faithfully kept its commitment to “efficiently provide worldclass financial products and services in order to foster a culture of growth and development for members and staff ”. Over the past 12 years, First Regional has continued to build on the high service standards of its predecessors. It has become the model for successful mergers which have enhanced its operations.

In the true spirit of the worldwide credit union goal of ‘people helping people,’ First Regional Co-operative Credit Union has now embarked on another leg of the journey to offer Jamaicans additional opportunities for financial empowerment. This new branch in Kingston will broaden the client base and further strengthen the institution.

I encourage you to continue setting high standards in service delivery, client relations, and community involvement throughout all 12 branches. Engage your clients regularly and strive to exceed their expectations.

Congratulations, and best wishes.

SIR PATRICK ALLEN

Governor General
