Put greater focus on God

THE EDITOR, Sir:

AS WE know very well, people are so preoccupied with the use of technology that they often forget the more important things in life, including the Most High God, Jehovah.

The moment some persons awake, they grab their cell phones, without even telling God thanks for their continued life that He sustains. They may spend almost the entire day on social media. While proper use of social media and the Internet is fine, since we can communicate and obtain valuable information at times, we should not do so to the extent that we forget God.

Without God, NOT ONE of us would have been alive! God has given us food, water, and air – so vital for us to keep alive. Further, God has given us His Son, who taught us how to live as recorded in the four gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) and elsewhere in the scriptures. Also, Jesus died for us so we can have our sins forgiven and get everlasting life.

People, will we show God that we are really thankful to Him for all his wonderful gifts to us by living for Him? God really made us to obey and worship Him. Avoid idolising your cell phones, computers, etc.

Learn about the ONE true God and His Son, Jesus Christ, as John 17:3 encourages us to do. Obey God as best as you can. (1 John 5:3) Turn to the Most High God, love him fully and get the chance to live forever in peace in the future. (See Matthew 22:37, 38; Psalm 37:11; Revelation 21:4)
