IN RECOGNITION of World AIDS Day, the gardens of Devon House became the base of a jolly affair, as several families flooded the area to partake in a fun-filled day and health fair.

Organised by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, Jamaica (AHF), a non-Governmental organisation committed to preventing the spread of HIV as well as offering testing and treatment for the virus, the day's event achieved all that it had set out to accomplish.

Starting with stretching muscles in an energetic exercise session, led by Kurt Dunn of Body by Kurt, persons were off to a fine start and as the day

progressed, it only got better.

Small picnics, children bouncing and playing exciting games, smiles from adorable painted faces, and adults in queue for free HIV tests, were repetitive scenes that made the afternoon a success for its promoters and attendees.

Christopher ‘Johnny’ Daley kept the crowd entertained with hilarious jests that created thunders of laughter and had many pulling a foot, especially to the electric slide.

Small booths representing institutions such as National Planning Board, Bureau of Gender Affairs, Jamaica Youth Advocacy Network, National Health Fund offering valuable information to those who sought answers lined the periphery of the lawn.

And it ended on a high note as Foga Road High School, winner of National Planning Board song competition, amazed each visitor with a stellar dramatic performance.
