ROAD TO DAVIS For Shore

ENGLISH ROCK Band Led Zepplin once sang, “If the sun refused to shine, I would still be loving you. When mountains crumble to the sea, there will

still be you and me.” Echoing this amorous sentiment for more than a decade are newlyweds Jheanelle Walker and Ranique Davis.

The two lovestruck hearts first met 12 years ago while growing up in the same neighbourhood located in the Sunshine City of Portmore in St Catherine. Ranique was immediately drawn to her hourglass body and wanted to explore her beautiful regions. Jheanelle ignored his unwanted attention, noting that she wasn’t interested in getting involved with a man of the ‘scheme’, but would much rather entertain a beau out of port. They became friends nonetheless.

During the summer of 2008, two years in, Ranique grew weary of his conquests and threw in the towel. Only then did Jheanelle surrender to him and they made it official that September. Over time, their connection blossomed into an enchanting relationship.

INTIMATE PROPOSAL

After courting for eight years, the experienced lovers welcomed a new addition to their unit, their bundle of joy, Liam. Starting this loving family inspired him to do right by his other half and ‘put a ring on it’. The soldier struggled to get time off and coordinate with her friends to make the proposal a grand affair. Instead, he kept the engagement intimate, going to the Terrace Bar and Grill for a romantic dinner for two on her birthday. Jheanelle explained that her date rambled for about 10 minutes after the main course, possibly as a result of nervousness, and over dessert, he asked her to do him the honour of marrying him.

“I planned the wedding myself, making all of my centrepieces, boutineers, and my bouquet,” she revealed. The DIY wedding planner and bride-to-be kept busy for months, making it her mission to tie the knot in fine style.

18.8.18. That marked the significant date Ranique and Jheanelle became husband and wife. Their beach wedding was held at Boardwalk Beach in Portmore. Hidden in an undergrove, the wedding ceremony boasted chiavari chairs, dream catchers, and aisles lined with rose petals. The blushing bride shared that she was a bit miserable initially because the wedding was off to a late start. But all that subsided when she walked towards her husband.

The reception was held on the deck upstairs. Master of ceremonies Terri-Karelle Reid hosted the night’s proceedings. DJ Image kept the festive ball rolling with musical selections while Raymond Simpson and Gerald Gordon captured all the merriment via video and photos, respectively.
