‘Harbour View, we are coming for you!’

ARNETT GARDENS’ head coach, Jerome Waite, says he is hoping to start the new year with a bang when his team travels to Harbour View in the Red Stripe Premier League competition on Sunday. Match time is 7:00 p.m.

Arnett are currently fourth in the standings on 30 points. Leaders Waterhouse are on 34, and they are followed by defending champions Portmore United with 33 and Cavalier on 31.

Waite said that this is a very important game for his team because they want to ensure that they collect all three points against lowly placed Harbour View.

“We have not found our right footing since the start of the season, but it is still good to know that we are just four points off the leaders,” said Waite.

“It is a good time now to think on the positives and to get things going, and so it is serious business for us on Sunday,” he said.

Harbour View have won both of their games since Fabian Taylor took over the reins from Ricardo Gardner who resigned last month.

They are currently ninth in the standings on 19 points.

GOOD FORM

Waite added that Harbour View have been rounding into good form and, therefore, he was expecting a tough contest from his opponents.

“It is always going to be a tough encounter when we play against Harbour View because these are two teams that on any given day can play good-quality football,” said Waite. “It is not going to be a situation where we are going to underestimate them because they have been doing some good things, and so I am looking forward to an exciting and challenging game.”

The veteran coach pointed out that he had done a lot of work on his offensive unit during the Christmas break, and so his players would score a lot more goals this term.

“We will focus on creating chances and, hopefully, we can put away more of those opportunities when we get them because that is something that I believe has been eluding us from the start of the season,”Waite stated.
