of the Senate, expresses the hope that by the time the next Parliament is sworn in the dilapidated premises in front of Gordon House will be attended to. Making his final speech on the motion for the adjournment raised by Senator Oswald Harding, leader of government business, Senator Morgan says the premises is too “dilapidated, disgraceful and an eyesore” to be facing the seat of Parliament. “An effort should be made to get it cleared up,” he says. “If the land is up for sale an effort should be made to buy it. We really shouldn’t have to go through another five years being ashamed to look across the road,” says Morgan. 1996:have Air Jamaica may soon
a chance to fly two of its A-310 areoplanes to the United States. At the end of a twoday Washington, DC, meeting between the local Civil Aviation Department and the United States Federal Aviation Authority (FAA), the national carrier is requested by the FAA to complete and submit its application for the inclusion of its airbuses. Air Jamaica is asked to make the application in light of initiatives undertaken by the Government and steps made by the airline to satisfy certification requirements for the new aircraft. 1997:Brigade The Jamaica Fire
