Capleton performs for Reggae Girlz at Dunn’s River

-

THE WORLD-Cup bound Reggae Girlz spent some downtime in Jamaica recently and deservedly travelled to Ocho Rios to enjoy some of the luxuries the resort town has to offer, one of them being the world-renowned Dunn’s River Falls and Park.

And as if visiting Dunn’s River wasn’t enough, the footballers were surprised when they ran into reggae artiste the ‘fire-burning’ Capleton.

The ‘surprise’ meeting was actually arranged by St Ann Development Company (SADCo) manager Farrah Blake, whose decision was backed by craft vendors at the attraction.

Accompanied by his media liaison, Sean ‘Contractor’ Edwards, the reggae artiste arrived shortly before the Reggae Girlz, who arrived to a splendid reception.

The occasion was just for a meet-and greet and photo opportunity, but urged by Contractor to give an impromptu performance for the ladies, Capleton acceded.

He made use of a sound system at the venue and did a 10-minute stint, much to the delight of not just the footballers, but all who were present.

Capleton later explained: “I did not come for a performance; I didn’t even have my rhythm CD. I vacation in Ocho Rios a lot, so I was asked to meet with the Reggae Girlz for a photo session. It was Contractor who convinced me to perform because he said my energy would motivate them in their upcoming matches.”

Later that evening, the Reggae Girlz were toasted at a reception at Sandals Ochi, which was attended by Sports Minister Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grange and members of the management team.
