Prevented from answering nature’s call

AST WEEK I went into National Commercial Bank’s (NCB) Duke Street, Kingston branch and conducted an ABM transaction. Since I wanted to answer nature’s call – I wanted to pee urgently – I asked the security guard to allow me to use the bathroom, located in the same area as the ABM machines inside a section of the banking hall, but the bathroom was locked.

It was then 8:10 a.m. A long queue was outside the bank waiting for the 8:30 opening time. “No, you have to wait until 8:30,” came the crude response from the security guard.

Just then I saw an employee who appeared to be a manager in the same area where the ABMs are located. I asked her to say why the security guard would not allow me to use the bathroom since I wanted to pee urgently. Her response was that, “for security reasons” the security guard could not allow me to use the bathroom until opening time, 8:30.

Security reasons? Did they suspect that I was going to plant a bomb in the bathroom? Come on, NCB, time to get into the 21st century.

Will NCB explain what is meant by not allowing a customer to use the bathroom for security reasons? By the way, I conduct more than one type of business with NCB and yes, through the Duke Street branch.
