CoWork JA fêtes females
COWORK JA on Friday observed International Women’s Day with a raft of activities intended to “celebrate and elevate the whole woman”.
CoWork JA’s founder, Tara Playfair-Scott, said she wanted to make the space, which has become very popular, “something extra special, and focused on women as soon as we open our doors on Friday”. As such, they partnered with well-known brands, and women, to make this happen.
In partnership with Nature My Therapy and National Bakery’s Crave brand, CoWorkJA invited all women entrepreneurs to ‘Start Your Day with a shot’ with a free ginger and turmeric energy shot and sweet treats. In addition, there was a 50 per cent discount on hourly, daily and weekly rates. Coffee Traders also provided caffeine fixes throughout the day, while Robyn Fox of EITS Cafe & Food Basket offered delicious ‘Build It Yourself Power Salads’ for lunch.
“It’s important to recognise that as women we deal with a lot – personally and professionally – and we have to take care of ourselves emotionally and mentally as well,” Playfair-Scott said.
As a result of this, yogi Sonita Abrahams from AfyaYoga Studio held a guided morning meditation session, dubbed ‘Mental and emotional self-care… get into it’.
Playfair-Scott further shared the excitement for having Naomi Garrick and Cathy Goodall, who provided mentorship and coaching sessions around the topic of personal branding.
“Not only are they both superwomen when it comes to brand development and coaching, but they both understand what it’s like to be executives and entrepreneurs – we’re providing the best resources and ways to become our best selves as women,” Playfair-Scott stated.
