CSJP lauded for community upliftment

-

ORGANISERS OF the annual National Safe Schools Peace Day Concert have recognised the Citizen Security and Justice Programme (CSJP) III for supporting the initiative over the past six years.

Representatives of CSJP were presented with an award by the concert’s planning committee during the event’s staging at Nelson Mandela Park in Half-Way Tree, St Andrew, last week.

Sergeant Tanecia Johnson of the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Community Safety and Security Branch (CSSB) praised CSJP III for their involvement with the concert.

“They have been on board… since the first staging of the concert, where they were our main sponsor, and they continued to contribute to the success and growth of this initiative which impacts many lives,” she said.

According to Sergeant Johnson, the CCSB hopes to maintain the partnership with the CSJP because of their commitment to community upliftment islandwide.

“They are such a dynamic group that goes above and beyond the call of duty in all our collaborations; and for that we are grateful, as the task of creating a safer and more peaceful environment for our children is not easy,” she added.

The concert is one of the CSSB’s main projects aimed at educating children about the importance of staying in school, managing conflicts and violence in schools, creating and maintaining a safe school environment, and improving the relationship between the police and school community.

The CSSB and CSJP III also work together on the former’s annual Safe Schools Tour.
