WESTERN BUREAU:

AS THE Trelawny police continue their bid to make their division safe for residents and visitors, investigators working out of the Criminal Investigation Branch have listed murder suspects Lascelles Wright and Clinton Davis as the two most wanted men in the parish.

Wright, a labourer of Tyre district in the rural parish, is wanted for the January 22 stabbing murder of Jason Sinclair, while Davis, who is of a Top Clark’s Town address, also in Trelawny, is wanted for the murder of 59-year-old Valrie Thompson, who was beheaded on Thursday, February 15.

“We have launched an all-out search for Clinton ‘Country’ Davis and Lascelles Wright, who are both wanted for murders committed in this parish,” said Inspector Simeon Hamilton, acting crime officer for Trelawny. “We want to take them off the streets before they commit any other serious crimes.

“We have learned that Wright is still hiding out in the parish, while Davis is believed to have fled the parish and is hiding out somewhere in Darliston and the Lennox Bigwoods areas in Westmoreland,” said Hamilton.

The senior cop appealed to the men to turn themselves in as early as possible. He also urged residents to desist from harbouring the wanted men, noting that it was a criminal offence to harbour a fugitive.

“These two men have been given enough warning to turn themselves over to the police,” said Hamilton. “We are not going to allow them to remain free, so we will be pulling out all stops to hunt them down and bring them to justice.”

Since the start of the year, Trelawny has recorded three murders. In 2018, there were 29 murders in the parish, making it the lowest of the four western parishes.
