THE END result, one of Montego Bay’s most successful entrepreneurs, Conrad Allen. For the father of four and owner of Cover Me Up Events Ltd, age is really but a number. Allen’s wife, Tamara, knew this and ensured that her husband was swathed in the best Moët & Chandon, drank delicious Hennessy, while spending his special birthday at the exclusive White Witch Golf Club in Rose Hall, Montego Bay.
The elegant all-black, invitationonly party, aimed to match the decor and statement pieces that adorned the venue.
ICING ON THE CAKE
The Cover Me Up team had gone all out and the icing on the cake, baked for their astute boss, was the appearance of the high-energy, suave I-Octane, who commandeered guests into showcasing their prowess on his stage.
The artiste made way for an animated Allen, whose daughter Jasmyn heaped praises on him, tagging him the first man she has ever truly loved.
“He is emotional, he is tender, he is loving, and he is kind,” she said, even as she, too, became emotional when she saw teardrops welling up in her father’s eyes.
“Let me tell you, I have the best father that I love more than anybody,” she said, in describing the Cover Me Up Events boss.
Amid the festivities, Allen took the floor and lauded Jamaican men who are living up to their responsibility by ensuring that their children are well protected,
nurtured and taken care of financially.
“The men I know may not be married to their children’s mothers, but they aren’t sitting back not paying the school fees or trying to put the kids through college; we are doing all of that, plus more,” he said.
He rapped deadbeat fathers, many of whom, he said, have no understanding of what it takes to raise a man.
Allen’s wife described him as a lover, not a fighter, a friend who wants to see all his friends achieve. For Tamara Allen, this was a celebration of greatness.
