LAST SUNDAY, countless brides said yes to the dress at the 2019 Bliss Trunk Show, held at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel.

The fourth instalment of the annual event saw women scurrying from one fitting room to the next, in a whirlwind of white couture with members of their bridal party in tow. The ballroom was transformed into the ultimate paradise for all the brides-to-be, as they hunted for their dream dress for the big day. Flair was able to steal a quick oneon-one with Bliss Bridal Boutique CEO Sara Stanford, who was seen jumping from room to room, ensuring that each bride had everything she needed.

“This year, we have outfitted the entire Jamaica Pegasus ballroom with fitting rooms. We emptied out our entire store and brought all the dresses here, so brides can fit,” explained Stanford.

All the gowns were from this year’s season, so each bride could fit the latest bridal fashion at hugely discounted prices. “We also have a lot of vendors and sponsors here that brides can go to, such as catering companies, make-up artists,

venues, photographers, everybody is h today,” she said.

Guaranteeing the success of such a event was no easy feat.

“It is always a challenge to put on t event, but we are always eager to do i started from 3 a.m., and we had to op doors at 10,” she explained.

“My sister was a Bliss bride and because of her, I followed Sara on Bliss Bridal on Facebook. I saw the post and thought it was a good idea to come and check out some dresses. Initially, I did not see anything I was 100% in love with, but by the end of the day, I hope to leave with something,” said another bride-to-be, Regina McBean.

CEO of Face Forward Sharon Wint-Levy explained how important it is to airbrush your make-up on your special day.

“Airbrushing is a technique that we recommend to all our brides. We believe that bridal make-up should be timeless and it should not be just a regular application. It needs to be something different,”she said.

The major benefit of airbrush make-up is its longevity.

“It will last all day until you are ready to take it off,” explained Levy, who described the application as light and not cakey.

“The pixels are very small and require little or no touch up. Photographers love airbrush because they won’t have much retouching to do,” she laughed.

With tears of joy and screams of excitement, the 2019 Bliss Trunk Show was the perfect occasion to find the perfect dress and say ‘yes’.
