Inaugural staging of Kingston Curry Festival set to delight

Over 30 chefs, restaurants confirmed for ‘Ev’ryting Curry’

-

WITH KINGSTON fast becoming a melting pot of culture and a mecca for gastronomy experiences, the organisers of the inaugural Kingston Curry Festival are promising culinarians, foodies, and food lovers a unique and fun-filled experience at the upcoming event that is scheduled for Wednesday, May 22, at the Hope Zoo.

Dubbed ‘Ev’ryting Curry’, more than 30 top-rated chefs and popular eateries have already signed up to showcase their little taste of Jamaica, including Banyan Catering, Cellar 8, Curry Hut, Lyming at Walkers Wood, Murray’s Fish Hut, So-So Seafood, and Soup King. Of course, a food festival would not be complete without a fusion of music and art, so patrons can also look forward to popular artisans like Artistiq Fusion, Bartley’s All In Wood, and Reve Jewellers, to name a few, plus entertainment from the likes of Naomi Cowan and others.

“Jamaicans crave unique food experiences that are good for the entire family, and this is just what Kingston Curry Festival will deliver,” said Leighton Davis, managing director for Creative Media and Events (CME), organisers of the event. “Curry adds an interesting twist and a tantalising kick to dishes, especially those we never thought could be curried, so we’re looking forward to delivering a unique experience and an amazing mix of food, music and art to everyone that attends,” he continued.

JAMAICA KIDNEY KIDS FOUNDATION

In addition, in celebration of its 10th-year anniversary, CME has also announced that part proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Jamaica Kidney Kids Foundation (JKKF).

“CME is proud to be celebrating our 10th anniversary this year, and we’re delighted to mark this milestone by giving back to some of Jamaica’s most vulnerable children who are suffering from kidney disease. This contribution will help them greatly in purchasing needed equipment so they can help even more children. We are therefore encouraging as many corporate companies as possible to come on board and purchase tickets for staff or customers and help us raise more funds for these children,” said Davis.

Pre-sold tickets can be purchased at Adam & Eve Day Spa or at Jus Land Couriers, located at Ardenne Emirates on Ardenne Road, for $1,000 each or $1,500 at the gate. Sponsors for Kingston Curry Festival include Best Dressed Chicken, Hope Zoo and JN Money Services Limited.
