BPO Talentz takes to IG
ENTERTAINMENT GROUP BPO Talentz, born out of Jamaica’s business processing outsourcing (BPO) sector, has launched a talent competition, BPO – Better Prepare Or-else, which seeks to uncover and showcase the talents of the employees of the BPO sector. The contestants will be competing for a US$1,000 first-prize jackpot.
The competition will run for 16 weeks and kicked off on August 24.
When asked about the competition, promoter Manfred ‘Zuuko’ Chin said, “BPO – Better Prepare Or-else is a talent competition that is hosted on IG (Instagram) with various artistes from call centres across Jamaica. This is a competition that will mainly take place on social media, as this is where most young people these days spend their free time.”
Chin outlined that the contestants will submit weekly performances to a provided WhatsApp number, and these clips will be posted to the BPO Talentz Instagram page. There, members of the public will go and vote for their favourites, and at the end of the week – each week represents a round in the contest – a participant will be eliminated.
“The competition was launched on IG and we received an overwhelming number of submissions. We narrowed this down to 21 contestants to start the competition. The competition has been creating a crazy buzz online and we are now in Week five, down to the top 15,” Chin said.
BPO – Better Prepare Or-else will culminate with a live show on a date to be announced in December. This final show will feature the top four competitors and a winner will be crowned on the night.
