Building lasting relationships

-

AMEMBER of the Grace & Staff Community Development Foundation for 18 years, Field Officer Tameica Lewis, says through its various programmes, community members are able to empower themselves in order to contribute to the development of their community and society.

“As a result of the investment and work done in these communities, we are able to build lasting relationships, develop a strong bond and gain the community’s trust. Based on feedback, the constituents value and are appreciative of the work that is done by the Foundation,” Miss Lewis said.

“I believe in the development of underserved communities, and so for Grace & Staff to accept it as its mandate speaks volumes for the Foundation,” Lewis said.

Lewis, who joined the foundation following her graduation from the St Hugh’s High School, started as a Clerical Officer. Now, a Field Officer, she has remained an integral part of the continued development of the organisation.

“Our beneficiaries communities appreciate what the Foundation does for them as does the wider community,” Lewis added. Grace and Staff, she said, stands firmly committed to the development of Jamaica’s youth, and given the current and ongoing widespread discussion about the range of influences faced by young people, the Foundation realises its responsibility in helping them to be their best selves, and to set a solid foundation for them to grow.
