Past students through the years

-

ANYA CHUCK started Hosanna in Kindergarten 2 and sat the Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) examination, where she achieved the Bank of Nova Scotia Shining Star Scholarship based on her GSAT score, 99.8 per cent, and gained her a place at the Montego Bay High School for Girls.

She maintained high academic standards for her five years there and the additional two years at the Montego Bay Community College.

She is currently a third-year medical student at the University of the West Indies Mona campus, on a full academic scholarship.

ROMEY DONALDSON attended Hosanna Kindergarten and Preparatory School for five years. He sat the GSAT examination and was placed at Cornwall College, where he was very outstanding in both academics and co-curricular activities. While there, he was an exceptional debater and student leader, serving as the deputy head boy. As a young past student, he arranged math seminars and other workshops from which the students of Hosanna Preparatory benefited. He is presently in China pursuing medicine.

JOANNA-JOY GRAY, a proud past student of the Hosanna Preparatory School in Montego Bay, is now a second-year student at The University of the West Indies, studying software engineering with a minor in management studies. While at Hosanna Preparatory, she became involved in activities such as Brownie, dance and choir; and competitions, such as the National Spelling Bee and reading competitions. Gray then attended Mount Alvernia High School, where she was elected president of the ISCF Club and later, head girl. She also received the Dr Horace Chang Award for Excellence in the Sciences, which provided a scholarship for her years in sixth form. Following sixth form, she was the recipient of the GraceKennedy Douglas Orane Scholarship, equipping her to pursue her Bachelors of Science Degree. At university, Gray maintains a high grade-point average and involvements in the Universities and Colleges Christian Fellowship Club, where she is now on the executive as the missions coordinator. She also works part-time as a lab technician. Gray credits her success to an excellent educational foundation at Hosanna Preparatory, engaged parenting, focus and hard work, as well as, most importantly, God.

SCOTIA-LEE RICKETTS graduated from Hosanna Preparatory in 2015, with an average of 99 per cent in GSAT, which earned her a place at Mount Alvernia High School. She is currently in fifth form and has maintained an average of more than 90 per cent throughout the years.

JONATHAN MORGAN entered Hosanna Preparatory as a reserved five-year-old and graduated in 2016 as a confident 12-year-old, head boy, and top GSAT student. Hosanna Preparatory provided me with many opportunities to grow and develop socially and academically and also as a leader. Thanks to the foundation which Hosanna provided, today, Morgan is a fourth-form student at Campion College, where he is a student leader, a member of the engineering and democracy clubs, and the Under-16 basketball team. Despite all my co-curricular involvement, he has managed to maintain his grades and continue to be on the honours list each term. “Congratulations, Hosanna Preparatory, on your 20th anniversary! May you continue to prepare students for today and the future!”
