Kingston Technical High School welcomes Youthlink/Honey Bun High Achievers School Tour
THE YOUTHLINK/HONEY Bun High Achievers School Tour ventured to Kingston Technical High School on Friday, February 21, a day on which the cheery students were stylishly attired in black, green, and gold, in celebration of Jamaica Day.
The students were seated under a large tent which was placed in a central region of the school compound that is seemingly used for the conventional devotional exercises. A few teachers settled close by a classroom wall, not far from the booths set up for
Youthlink and Honey Bun to sell their products. The minute MC Cornelius Grant disclosed that students could obtain a Honey Bun product of their choice, along with a thirst-quenching Sparkling CranWATA free of charge with the simple purchase of a Youthlink for $30, they came hurdling by to make their purchases.
The day then progressed with phenomenal music, ranging from Shenseea’s Independent, Daddy1’s Custom, Skillibeng’s Brik Pon
Brik, and Stylo G’s Dumpling.
Students, teachers and other staff were completely exhilarated, and this was further amplified by a slew of spectacular performances, such as Christine Lugg’s in the Honey Bun modelling competition, which saw her claiming the victory. Next up was the Honey Bun dance competition, which didn’t lack controversy as the MC and the audience hysterically disputed Jephenneh Reid’s win, due to his initial six-to-eight minutes
of inactivity while his competitors continued to dance.
THRILLING COMPETITION
The Sparkling CranWATA jingle competition was astronomically thrilling, leaving the audience shivering in anticipation of a grand battle between a student and a teacher. When Christopher Miller faced off with his teacher, his win was decisive after receiving overwhelming support from his schoolmates. For his victory, he collected a Sparkling CranWATA gift basket.
“The Youthlink and Honey Bun High Achievers School Tour at my school today was an exciting, eventful, and awesome experience! I thoroughly enjoyed the various activities, as well as the vivacious personality of the MC, and the talented dance moves displayed by the Honey Bun Dancers,” said fifth-form student Tamia Blake.
This season’s tour ran from mid
January to the end of February and was sponsored by Squeezz and Sparkling CranWATA.
