St Hilda’s

Diocesan High School

THE YOUTHLINK/HONEY Bun High Achievers School Tour embarked on a journey to Brown’s Town, St Ann, on Tuesday, February 18, to tour the highly punctilious St Hilda’s Diocesan High School. The event delivered a momentous hour of entertainment and lively presentations to a highly responsive and engaging community at the prominent school for girls. The teams from Youthlink, Honey Bun and Sparkling CranWATA were awestruck by the firstclass self-restraint and overall demeanour of the young ladies from St Hilda’s. Not only were they brimming with zeal throughout the proceedings, but they were also exceptionally respectful, supportive, keen and prudent.

The MC, Cornelius Grant, lauded the students for their effervescent and methodical deportment – stating to their magnanimous principal, Mrs Johnson, that she is doing a fine job of cultivating ladies at the school.

“Madam Principal, you are doing a fine job nurturing a much-disciplined set of young women. This school is a manufacturer of ladies! This is the first time since the initial staging of the tour where we have seen no paper littered on the ground. The compound is as clean as when we arrived,” said Cornelius.

“The students were so organised, even when they came to purchase their Youthlink, they formed an immediate line and waited patiently to be served. We had to carefully switch up a little of our song choices to match the personalities of the students, but it was still a fun and exciting day. They were highly involved and loved what we came here to deliver. This is a highly disciplined school and I look forward to seeing other schools display this level of involvement while maintaining discipline.”

The tour executed its routine segments: awarding St Hilda’s high achievers and recognising the Honey Bun $10,000 winner, Tyana Green-Rove, who was not present to claim her prize. It was, however, collected on her behalf by a male teacher.

The Honey Bun dance competition became critically appealing to its audience when the principal joined the stage with her disciplined girls to show off her expressive dance moves, which instantly excited an already-electrified audience.

“The Youthlink/Honey Bun Tour is an excellent, collaborative initiative! By highlighting the high achievers, others are motivated to improve their academic performance. Thanks again for recognising our high achievers, for sharing your delicious products with us and, of course, for entertaining the entire St Hilda’s family. Great job! Wish you continued success as you journey across Jamaica,” said principal Johnson.

This season’s tour ran from mid-January until the end of February, and is sponsored by Squeezz and Sparkling CranWATA.
