The Caribbean College of Family Physicians (CCFP) encourages family doctors to establish systems that will promote quality of care as well as safety in their practices.

‘Living with COVID-19 demands a strategy of risk management and quality planning which emphasises the safety of the patients and staff. The protocols developed by the CCFP help family doctors to achieve higher levels of care as we cooperate for excellence.’

The CCFP has developed protocols for primary-care medical centres which emphasise minimum criteria for the physical plant, training for healthcare personnel, equitable access to care, and efficient practice management. Family doctors may use the protocols for voluntary self-assessment or peer assessment of their medical practices.
