The school was awarded first place for collecting 510,672 plastic bottles in the Wisynco ECO Clubs in Schools Competition and was one of over 100 schools across the island that participated in the fourth staging. A total of 10,424,372 plastic bottles were collected for the 2019-2020 recycling initiative geared at building awareness around recycling and sensitising students on proper waste- management practices. The winnings are to be used to create or continue an environmental project at the Clarendon-based institution. Placing second and third in the high-school category were Denbigh High School in Clarendon, with 321,984 bottles, and Wolmers’ Boys School in Kingston, with 291,312 bottles. They will receive $100,000 and $75,00, respectively.
