Eastern Caribbean to withdraw one- and two-cent coins
The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) has reminded the public that the one- and two-cent coins will no longer be legal currency as of June 30. In July 2015, the ECCB announced that it was withdrawing the coins from circulation and that the public had five years to use those coins.
According to the regional institution’s Acting Director of the Currency Management Department, Rosbert Humphrey, the public can spend the coins, and businesses can accept them, up until June 30.
