EARLY START: THREE NAMED STORMS ALREADY THIS SEASON

Approximately two weeks prior to the official start of the 2020 season – Tropical Storm Arthur became the first named storm of the year on May 16. (This is the sixth consecutive year that there has been an early start to the season.) Tropical Storm Bertha followed on May 27 and Tropical Storm Cristobal on June 3.
