Ras-I thrills souls on The Harry J Live Couch Series

- Ras-I

THE HARRY J Live Couch Series is back for season two with a soulful jam session with the rising reggae crooner, Ras-I, making his debut with the signature golden couch. The virtual live Couch Series is produced by Tara Johnson, daughter of the legendary producer Harry J, and features a diverse set of emerging artistes and musicians grooving to the sounds of reggae music in the iconic Harry J Studio.

“Exposing new talent through quality production and uninhibited creativity is a staple of the Harry J brand, and with the global intermission of physical live events, we created an outlet for musicians and artistes to showcase their talent safely while the audience vibe with us in the comfort of their homes,” said Tara Johnson, managing director, Harry J Studio.

Ras-I, with his calm demeanour, used his conversational tone to introduce his newest release, Days and Months, before getting into his soothing falsetto style with favourites from his album, Tsojourna – Ordinary Day and Crazy Over You. “It was an honour to perform in the Harry J Studio with its rich history and unique aesthetic. It is a positive movement for both emerging and established artistes and I am just elated to perform and be able to use my music to create a light mood in this unprecedented time in our entertainment history,” commented Ras-I.

Each session has an eclectic blend of musicians, with Keniel Delisser, Jerome Small , Jevaughn Jones, O’Neil Dacres, Robert Malcolm and Almando Douglas setting the tone for the first episode of season two. “Our viewers asked for longer episodes and we listened; the audience will now experience jam sessions up to fifteen minutes for each of the four episodes,” said Tara, after teasing that “we may have a bonus in the bag this time around”.
