AT SOME point in our lives, we all need someone to care for us. Yes, we all do. So, that’s why caring is an important part of True United Sisters (TUS) mantra. Hence, the establishment of our senior citizens’ club which engages the elderly in recreational, educational and skills training activities.

Whenever they meet at the organisation’s outreach centre located at Church Road, Bog Walk, they are provided with cooked meals or light refreshment. They are also given grocery packages on a regular basis and assistance to purchase their medication.

“I am grateful for this organisation and the assistance I get,” said 65-year-old Beverley Scarlett of Princessfield, who has been a member for more than one year.

President for the club, Janice Allen, a dressmaker by profession, is equally grateful for the work that the organisation undertakes.

“I am happy for this club and I pray that God will grant Miss Sudu good health and strength to continue this programme for the seniors. It’s a blessing!” she expressed.

At the same time, the Someone Cares programme places special emphasis on the indigent and persons with disabilities. Consequently, from time to time, TUS blesses them with grocery packages and other basic items essential to their survival.
