Consultation with obeah: a spiritual dilemma

- Grace Ade-Gold GUEST COLUMNIST

NEVER AGAIN should it be said that a nation whose foundation is solidly built on Christ, the Solid Rock, and whose national anthem is a prayer to God is giving in to so much evil, including consulting necromancers, obeah, balm yard, Pocomania, Revivalism, and voodoo, and the list goes on. God hates idolatry. He is a jealous God, says Deuteronomy 6:15.

Numerous persons who have given in to evil are left with spiritual challenges or disturbances, galloping for life, having been stripped of Godgiven life and its abundance. Such mayhem includes, but is not limited to, sleeplessness, financial ‘hankypanky’, violence, crime, family splits and generational chaos, sexual assault, sicknesses and diseases, losses, joblessness, accidents, and individual desecration and demonisation, etc.

Wounded and terrified, an elderly woman (one of many cases I have handled in the past) consulted my counselling and deliverance clinic a few years ago. She was heavily oppressed and depressed by witchcraft and demonic bondage. She had taken several ‘baths’ and drunk many concoctions (including blood) and even had a sand or dirt baptism. She got things to rub on and put under her bed, etc. Consequently, her family split. The children and grandchildren who even lived next door to her all abandoned her. The neighbours turned against her. She was financially stripped, could not sleep, was always being sexually molested in her sleep, had nightmares, and referred to the dilemma, just like others, as “all hell broke loose”.

In some cases, even their very eyesight becomes dim because of ‘blackness of the darkness’. The scriptures say, “Because of lack of understanding, God’s people are destroyed” (Hosea 4:6). To any sensible individual, what is good in a sand or dirt baptism when Christ has shown us the way? What is good in drinking blood when Christ’s blood was shed to make the sacrifice for sin on the cross of Calvary? What is good in obeah, ‘bath’, and even jumping fire when you can have sweet communion with God and go to the beach to take a bath to relax with friends and family, having cast all your cares on the Lord? “Why go after beggarly elements?” asks Galatians 4:9. Why go back to the gates of hell? Some even get raped because they are told that their problems cannot be solved if the obeah man or obeah woman’s relative doesn’t have sexual intercourse with them before they leave. I pray every evil practice and deception be destroyed now in this nation and globally in JESUS’ NAME!

God is warning His children to depart from iniquity – 2 Timothy 2:19. All those who practise evil, putting the people in bondage, should seek God now – John 3:16-19. Don’t be lost eternally!

Get rid of those witchcraft practices, demonic pregnancies (snakes in your belly and things crawling in your body), headaches, failure, childlessness, insomnia, sicknesses, and diseases. JESUS shall set you free! Arise Shine Apostolic and Deliverance Ministries welcomes you to our services, clinic, and training.
