Thomas ready for Dunbeholden challenge
NEW DUNBEHOLDEN coach, Harold Thomas, admitted he is under no illusions as to what will be demanded of him. A former Harbour View and Rivoli United coach, Thomas was appointed to head the St Catherine-based Jamaica Premier League club’s coaching staff after previous coach, Curtis Hamilton, stepped away to tend to personal matters.
Thomas declared that he is ready for the challenge and that organising the players and getting them on one page is his first priority.
“The nature of the game is about winning and that is what
I will try to do.
Every team has
11 players but they have to be organised, so for the initial period we will try to get them as organised as we can.
“But whenever we take the field, the objective is to win. If that is not the goal something must be wrong,” he said.
Thomas said the Dunbeholden squad has immense potential and he will do his best to help the team achieve its goals this season.
“All I can do is do my best. We have a very good crop of players here, so we are hoping and looking for good things from them,” he said.
He added that losing their first two games will not make his job harder or easier, as every game in the JPL is tough, no matter who you play.
“The job is very difficult already so it is to get everybody fighting for t he same cause. There are no easy teams. We will treat everything with respect but at the same time try to get three points from each game. That is our aim.
“We will give a good account of ourselves with the possibility of getting what we want (reaching the play-offs) this season,” he stated.
Dunbeholden face unbeaten Cavalier i n their next match tomorrow.
