Clansman legal bill may cost taxpayers $50m
JUSTICE MINISTER Delroy Chuck says the estimated bill for attorneys providing legal aid for accused members of the One Don Gang, a faction of the feared St Catherine-based Clansman Gang, will cost the Government $50 million. Here are the responses via The Gleaner’s social media pages:
Tell Judge Sykes n his entourage to speed up the trial n stop dragging it out. Why shud taxpayers pay for this trial? They have money stacked away, let them use the extortion money to pay for counsel! – Monica Brown

And they say badness doesn’t pay, and when the trial is over I’m sure they get AC in their cell along with three meals per day, while hard-working law-abiding citizens can’t even pay their light bill come month-end. – Steven James
In the Uchene Wilson matter only nine were convicted and 15 walked free at a cost of $55m.
