Compelling record of outreach

-

THE JAMAICA Baptist Union (JBU) rejoices with the Exchange Baptist Church for the ways in which God has guided them since the beginning of their witness 125 years ago. Your journey thus far tells a compelling story of what God can do in and through us when we yield ourselves to God. We say, and yes, sing, with fervour, “To God be the glory, great things he hath done!”

Exchange Baptist Church has developed a compelling record of outreach, matched by unwavering dedication, in God’s mission over the years. The church’s outreach programmes have contributed to the spiritual and social growth of the Exchange community in St Ann and surrounding environs. Indeed, your congregation continues to have an impact beyond your immediate environs, including other parishes such as St Mary.

I thank God for blessing the Exchange Baptist Church with faith leaders who have been committed to serve and disciple his children over the years. The current pastor, Reverend Johnathan Hemmings, has been diligent in ministry as he leads the church to evangelise with grace and love.

Your theme, “125 years: A legacy gratefully received, to be faithfully passed on”, is very fitting. Undoubtedly, you have created a legacy that will benefit generations to come. It is my desire that the next generation will continue to build on the solid foundation you have built with God’s help.

The JBU pledges its continued support as you fulfil your mandate to spread the Word. May God’s immeasurable love, grace and strength be with you as a church family.

REV KARL B. JOHNSON General Secretary Jamaica Baptist Union
