STEPPA AND PEENIWALLI: KOTCH wellness havens in Treasure Beach

- Debra Edwards Assistant Online and Lifestyle Editor debra.edwards@gleanerjm.com

PROVIDING TRANQUIL ambience with unpretentious luxury, Steppa and Peeniwalli are two beautiful new Treasure Beach villas from the Kotch collection that seamlessly work as one, giving visitors all the amenities needed for a relaxing trip to Jamaica’s south coast.

With wellness at the forefront of the experience, waking up and falling asleep to waves making their way ashore are only the inception of the allure for these ethereal multi-level seaside properties.

Boasting numerous attractive nooks to meditate, do yoga, work, nap or simply hold a vibe, one can also choose to start their day with a sunrise swim and end it with a calming shower under the stars, making the twin properties a great sojourn and peaceful reset from the rigours of life.

Steppa and Peeniwalli are the brainchild of Jodi Moser and James Godfrey, who also own Kotch their flagship property, which is another neighbouring Treasure Beach beauty designed by Sam Gore.

As the waves make their presence known, Moser, the lifestyle and wellness enthusiast smiles when asked to look around at what she played a role in creating. While seated in the Peeniwalli lounge, she explains that the villas have been a labour of love for both her and Godfrey who want to ensure that visitors thoroughly enjoy their stay and feel the spirit of community that only Treasure Beach can bring.

Moser consciously curates experiences for heart-led and creative leaders who come to the villas. “The wellness space is growing so much and a lot of people are coming here for healing,” she says as we take a look around the property and understand why.

Perfect for retreats, reunions, weekends out of town and even weddings, the villas’ services are reminiscent of a boutique hotel and come with a dedicated team ready to cater to your needs. From fresh cuisine to exciting local adventures, the Kotch experience is a must do.

As friendly dogs Chicken and Nugget pop by for a visit, Moser is asked who they belong to and without hesitation she says, “the community”. Her statement represents the feeling of unity and camaraderie that lives in Treasure Beach and that Moser and Godfrey are resolute in building through the Kotch Collection and in Jamaica’s wellness space.

As the sun sets on the beach in front of Peeniwalli and Steppa, a picturesque scene is created making one able to see why Treasure Beach is called the ‘gem of the south coast’.

Following strict COVID-19 protocols to ensure the safety of visitors and staff, and as the world slowly opens, Moser and Godfrey hope to be able to continue to offer wellness and healing escapes at their properties while attracting like-minded people to add to their growing community.
