Continue to innovate new products that bring value to customers

CONGRATULATIONS TO First Heritage Cooperative Credit Union (FHC) on celebrating 10 years of supporting its valued customers at varying stages of their financial wellness journeys.

It is incredible to consider that only 10 years ago, FHC made history by becoming the largest open bond credit union in Jamaica. The merger of the Churches Co-operative Union and the GSB Co-operative Credit Union in August 2012 was the first of its kind in Jamaica’s history. A decade later, I am proud of the commitment to growth demonstrated over the years.

The FHC brand has developed in tandem with the company’s vision to be a world-class financial institution focused on enhancing the welfare of members, employees and communities in which it operates. In this regard, I commend the board of directors, the executive team, under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer Roxann Linton, the management team and staff across nine branches for the stellar work done to expand the organisation and serve its clients. Undoubtedly, your products and services, which include loans, savings plans, remittances and pension and estate planning, have assisted many young people with finding secure financial ground.

As you celebrate 10 years of excellence, I encourage you to continue to innovate new product offerings that bring value to your customers. At the same time, I urge the FHC team always to remain focused on improving efficiency in their service delivery.

Quite fittingly, the theme of the celebration is ‘Power Up! Strong Legacy ... Embracing New Frontiers’. Indeed, as you strive to build on the sound foundation of the last 10 years, it will demand an injection of fresh energy to create an even more prosperous future. With this future in mind, corporate social responsibility remains critical to community development and nation-building. Considering this, I applaud the FHC Foundation’s work to promote youth development through several scholarships, grants and entrepreneur awards.
