Wishing more years of inspiring growth, solid achievement

-

ON BEHALF of the Jamaica Co-operative Credit Union League (“the League”) we extend congratulations to First Heritage Co-operative Credit Union (“FHC”) on this, your 10th anniversary as an amalgamated entity.

While your long and valuable history of service actually dates back over more than 80 years through the credit unions that preceded the Churches Co-operative Credit Union and also some 68 years through the GSB Co-operative Credit Union, you created history on August 1, 2012 when both these large credit unions merged to form the First Heritage Co-operative Credit Union and you have only continued to grow from strength to strength.

Congratulations on having grown to become one of the largest open bond Credit unions in Jamaica and the Caribbean. With over 200,000 members and 11 branches across the Island, with a new permanent branch soon to be opened in Morant Bay, your Credit Union now has the capacity to serve just about every Jamaican, wherever they may live. We encourage you to continue expanding your network and your range of products, as you work towards improving the lives of your members.

By your own indication your Credit Union continues to focus on building lasting relationships with your members, whether salaried or self-employed, whether working in large, small or micro enterprises, or whether engaged in service focused, manufacturing, distribution or agricultural enterprises. This is a testament to your Team’s commitment to cooperative principles, prudent management, sound financial practices and the provision of high quality services.

This milestone of 10 added years of success is truly worthy of praise and commendation. On this special occasion, your League salutes the entire FHC Team, including the directors, other volunteers, managers, supervisors, line staff and the members themselves for their hard work, dedication and support in ensuring the Credit Union’s continued success and longevity. We wish for you many more years of inspiring growth and solid achievement.

Yours in Co-operative Service,

LAMBERT S. JOHNSON President

Jamaica Co-operative Credit Union League
