Ensuring a secure future for all our members

-

ON BEHALF of the Board of Directors, I am indeed humbled, yet extremely proud to highlight this noteworthy milestone of 10 years of service in the history of the First Heritage Co-operative Credit Union Limited (FHC). This year we focus our celebrations on the theme: Power Up! Strong Legacy…embracing New Frontiers.

FHC was borne out of a rich heritage conceptualized in October 2010 and culminated on August 1, 2012, through the merger of two credit Unions: Churches Cooperative Credit Union Ltd and GSB Cooperative Credit Union Ltd. Three years later, on March 1, 2015, through a transfer of engagement, the business and operations of the St. Thomas Cooperative Credit Union Ltd were also added. This combined entity has become one of Jamaica’s largest and most successful Credit Unions in the history of the movement.

FHC now boasts a complement of over 200,000 members while managing an asset base of over J$17 Billion. FHC also operates from 11 locations granting access to a wide array products and services to members to help them accomplish their goals throughout each phase of their financial wellness journey.

The Credit Union has accomplished many firsts throughout the years. Amongst these is FHC being the only credit union with an investment subsidiary, FHC Investments Limited (FHCIL).

So, as we celebrate this decade of service, we want to acknowledge our management team led by our CEO, along with the hardworking team members. They continue to raise the ‘BAR’ through BEING aware; cultivating an ATTITUDE for success; and consistently achieving even more by REIMAGINING the possibilities of the Credit Union and how to better serve our members. With a combination of over 100 years of Credit Union service through our merger, we continue to build on the strong legacy we have as we employ innovative ways to move forward and serve our FHC Family and new members as we engage the underserved and underbanked communities.

Despite the unprecedented environment within which we operate, especially since the advent of the COVID-19 global pandemic, which continues to bring its own challenges, the entire FHC team remains resilient and continues to successfully navigate each hurdle. The Board of Directors celebrates you during this occasion because you continue to play a critical role in advancing our membership and the business of the Credit Union from a Solid Past…to ensuring a Secure Future for all our members.

Congratulations to the FHC family for commendable work over the past ten years and to our volunteers and other stakeholders without whose unwavering support and loyalty we could not have achieved this milestone.
