THE REGISTRAR and staff of the Department of Co-operatives and Friendly Societies congratulates the members, volunteers, management and staff of the First Heritage Co-operative Credit Union Limited on this significant milestone of attaining ten (10) years as a corporate body under the theme “Power Up! Strong Legacy …Embracing New Frontiers”. Providing invaluable services and products to members, their relatives and the wider community is indeed remarkable and should be recognized for continued commitment to excellent member service.

It is noteworthy that on August 1, 2012 Churches Co-operative Credit Union and GSB Co-operative Credit Union merged to form the new entity First Heritage Co-operative Credit Union Limited (FHC) and a subsequent Transfer of Engagement of the St. Thomas Co-operative Credit Union which facilitated the growth and expansion of agricultural lending to farmers which positively impacted the industry as well as the economy; a merger of this magnitude was the first of its kind in the history of the Credit Union Movement thus attributing to it becoming the largest open bond Credit Union in Jamaica.

The financial performance of the Credit Union continues to show positive growth evidenced by Membership of over 200,000; Total Savings of over $13.3 Billion; Total Assets of over $16.7 Billion and a Loan Portfolio of over $15.5 Billion as at December 31, 2021. This is as a result of the dedicated and vibrant management team and the staff of unmatched quality, who is constantly seeking to introduce innovative ways of inspiring the lives of the members who utilize the services offered by the Credit Union as well as the public at large.

We applaud you First Heritage Co-operative Credit Union Limited (FHC) in celebration of your 10th Anniversary and wish for you continual success.
