Pluto Shervington for Musical Delights ‘23

-

MUSICAL DELIGHTS, the annual Lions Club of Kingston fundraiser, makes its return to the entertainment calendar on Sunday, February 12, in the gardens of The Jamaica Pegasus hotel, featuring the iconic Jamaican singer/songwriter Pluto Shervington.

Pluto, best known for a string of reggae hits including, Your Honour, Ram Goat Liver, I Man Born Ya, Letter from Miami and Dat Ting Dere, migrated to the USA during the Manley era and has only made rare appearances on the Jamaican stage since taking up residence in Florida.

When approached to contribute his immense talent to this latest edition of Musical Delights, Pluto noted that he supports the efforts of the Lions to do charitable work in Jamaica as he and his late father, Keith Shervington, had been members of the Lions Club.

His adoring fans can look forward to an evening of laughter and nostalgia as Pluto takes us down memory lane with his trademark wit and hits of yesteryear.

Supporting acts on Musical Delights include the hilarious big belly man, Admiral Bailey; the powerful vocals of George Nooks; dancehall sensation Chiching-ching; jazz singer, Keisha Patterson; blind songbird, Candy Isaacs; cabaret sensation, Rojah; trombonist/singer, Everton Pessoa; and Richie Kanary backed by Errol Lee and the Bare Essentials Band.

Musical Delights is returning to the Gardens at Tthe Pegasus after a three-year break due to the COVID19 pandemic. The show starts at 6 p.m. and all acts will be introduced by Dr Michael Abrahams, the ribtickling MC, in his own inimitable style.

Musical Delights is the main fundraiser for the Lions Club of Kingston Sight Clinic which offers screening and glasses at a nominal cost to members of the public. Tickets are available from the clinic at 30 Beechwood Avenue, Lions Club members or online at Vipticketsja.com.
