As a Governmentsupported training workshop for Caribbean labour inspectors got underway, President of the National Workers Union (NWU), Clive Dobson said that the Ministry of Labour is not effectively monitoring safety standards at the workplace. Dobson said the infrastructure in the Ministry to monitor occupational health and safety standards in local work sites was ‘almost defunct”.
