Final scores were KC 157 and Tivoli 88.
1981:
Apprentice rider Desmond Smith captured the spotlight at Caymanas Park when he booted home three winners from as many rides on the nine-race charity programme in aid of the Jamaica Racing Commission Benefit Scheme.
1988:
Tim Eggar, member of parliament, undersecretary of state in Britain’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office, told The Gleaner, at Jamaica House, that his talks with Jamaican officials were “very useful”. Eggar, who was on a four-day visit to Jamaica to acquaint himself with developments in the island, had closed-door meetings with Jamaican officials, including Prime Minister Edward Seaga. The nature of the talks was not disclosed.
