Omni Industries spreads joy at Strathmore Gardens Children’s Home
IN THE heart of Strathmore Gardens, Spanish Town, where community bonds run deep, Omni Industries Ltd, a manufacturer of thermoplastic products, once again demonstrated its commitment to the well-being of residents through a heartfelt Christmas outreach to the Strathmore Gardens Children’s Home.
The visit over the Christmas holiday saw the donation of several much-needed items, including essential plastic household items like laundry tubs, wash bowls, soup bowls, utility tubs, coffee mugs, water pitchers, and snack tumblers, as well as a 120-litre foot pedal trash bin.
With heartfelt thanks, Marcia Tucker, manager at the home, extended her gratitude to Omni Industries for the donation, which will benefit over 50 children at the institution. “Omni’s support has planted seeds of hope and joy in our children’s lives, nurturing a brighter future for each one. Thank you for being a beacon of compassion and making our home flourish with love and possibilities,” she said at the handover.
Each child at the home carries a unique story, woven with threads of resilience and courage. Some arrived at the home’s doorstep seeking solace from fractured families while others found refuge after facing unforeseen challenges. Despite their diverse backgrounds, these children share a common bond in the pursuit of a brighter future.
Over the years, Omni Industries has sought out various ways to lend its support to the home and its residents. “We believe that every child deserves a magical Christmas, regardless of their circumstances, and we saw an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of the children at Strathmore Gardens Children’s Home,”said Tamika Powell, Omni Industries’Group Human Resources Assistant. “While we have contributed to Strathmore at intervals throughout the years, we last visited in 2019 and treated the children to gifts, toys, and cake, donated by our staff. Our engagement with Strathmore is not just seasonal, it’s a sustained effort to make a positive impact on the lives of these children,” Powell added.
The company sees community outreach as an integral part of its identity, and plans to continue making a positive impact in the years to come.
