Nominations open for 2023 RJRGLEANER Honour Awards
THE RJRGLEANER Communications Group is inviting readers to actively participate in shaping the narrative of national excellence and outstanding contributions through nominations for the 2023 RJRGLEANER Honour Awards.
As the company reflects on the 44-year legacy of this initiative, it is urging Jamaicans to nominate outstanding individuals and organisations that embody the essence of Jamaica’s hope and pride.
With an illustrious list of past recipients, including luminaries such as Usain Bolt, Grace-Kennedy and The Mico, the RJRGLEANER Honour Awards recognises those making significant contributions to Jamaica’s national life.
Readers are encouraged to choose from a diverse range of categories spanning Arts & Culture, Public Service, Sports, Education, Science and Technology, Voluntary Service, Health & Wellness, Business, and Entertainment.
The winners in each category, along with recipients of Certificates of Merit, Lifetime Achievement, and Special Awards, stand a chance to vie for the coveted RG Platinum Award in April.
“Our selection of categories represents a broad cross-section of areas where persons have contributed to the development and prosperity of the Jamaican people. We recognise winners and present special awards in these categories to reinforce the point that our talent, passion, and excellence are evident across areas that are diverse but equally important to the success of our nation,” said Anthony Smith, CEO of the RJRGLEANER Communications Group.
Led by Douglas Orane, the group’s Selection Committee meticulously identifies individuals and organisations actively contributing t o vital areas of development, acknowledging their invaluable impact.
“There is such an abundance of hidden gems we have in our country! People exuding talent, dedication, creativity, caring, generosity, excellence honed by years of experience,” Orane shared.
“Our role in the RG Honour Awards is to unearth these gems and to recognise them in public as exemplars for our society. But we need your assistance; we can’t spot all these hidden treasures on our own. So please help us by nominating those you see lighting a candle to illuminate the way for Jamaica to become a better place.”
