The victorious partnership

-

KNOWING THE Word of God is not enough. We must be able to use it in the real world to defeat the lies and strategies that Satan uses against us. When we start to operate in that way, God will become our partner as we fight against our enemies. To achieve victory in 2024, we will need to know how to wield the Word of God against the enemy.

As a man of faith, David understood that his ability was nothing compared to the ability of God in battle. He understood God’s role in the fight when he said, “You armed me with strength for battle; you humbled my adversaries before me.”

TRUST IN THE WORD OF GOD

The reality is that the Lord is always fighting with us. He is the general ordering His angels in the mix, to tip the scales in our favour. He brings confusion to Satan the ‘confuser’, so that we can destroy, undermine, and cut off his influence over us. The Word instructs us to “Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them … 17 Repay no one evil for evil, … 18. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all … 21. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good” (Romans 12:14-21 ESV).

Putting our trust in the Word of God, instead of in what we can do or see in the natural, will give us victory. God will teach us how to triumph over our enemies. David said about his enemies, “I beat them as fine as windblown dust; I trampled them like mud in the streets.” Our wrestle is not against flesh and blood, we are wrestling with those who are not seen. To conquer the enemy, we must give him no place in our lives. We must cut him out of our lives and allow him no access to our families. Once we begin to say to the Lord, “I’ll do whatever you want, except…” we open the door to the lies of the enemy and make ourselves ready to hear what we want to hear.

CONQUER THE ENEMY OF OUR SOULS

Only through the strength of the Lord Jesus Christ can we conquer the enemy of our souls. Jesus said, “I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of” (John 10:10b MSG). We must fight the good fight of faith because God wants us to live a fruitful life in 2024. Though many people are giving up, or have given up, because of what is happening to them and around them, God says there is another way, and victory can be ours, but it starts with dedication to Him and learning from Him.

Even if the Devil has outrun and defeated us in the past, we cannot allow that to deter us. We can overcome him if we will just get back in the race and start to run again. Run with patience and run by the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Always keep in mind that the Devil is a defeated foe, and Jesus won the victory over him at the Cross of Calvary. Ask God for renewed strength, and know that He will continuously renew our strength and power. Isaiah 40:29 tells us that “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” We must set our sights again on victory despite the current circumstances, and focus on the course that God has set for us. Commit to being diligent in running the race so you can be victorious.
